Mrs. Bernice N. Greene, 84, of the Good Samaritan Home, formerly of 2009 Cherry Lane Estates, died at 4:40 a.m. Wednesday (August 7, 2002) in Good Samaritan Home. Born February 7, 1918 in Quincy, Bernice was the daughter of Steve and Jessie Bosse Niemann. She married Loy F. "Junie" Greene on August 31, 1940 in St. Louis, MO. He survives. Loy and Bernice celebrated their 61st Anniversary in August, 2001. Mrs. Greene was confirmed in Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ. She was a graduate of Quincy High School and Gem City Business College. She was employed as a secretary and bookkeeper at Moorman Manufacturing and later for Herbert Finance until her retirement. Also surviving are two sons, Dennis K. Greene and his wife Sharon of Walnut Creek, CA. and Gregory L. Greene of Springfield, IL.; two grandchildren, Brett Greene of Walnut Creek, CA. and Denise Greene of San Diego, CA.; three brothers, Donald F. Niemann and his wife Judy of Quincy, Steve J. Niemann and his wife Mary Sue of Jackson, MO. and Dale K. Niemann and his wife Janet of Clearwater, FL.; a brother in law, Ralph Jackson of Des Moines, IA.; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Greene was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Betty K. Jackson. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 1:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Steve Disseler. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services with inurnment in Quincy Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Monday until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Home or Salem Church. |
