ERMA SCHMIDT HARLAND
Mrs. Erma Schmidt Harland, 82, of Stacy, MN., formerly of Quincy, died at 5:00 a.m. Friday (March 2, 2001) in Lindstrom, MN.

Born September 19, 1918 in Quincy, Erma was the daughter of John and Nora Richardson. She married Rev. Donald Schmidt who preceded her in death on January 5, 1972. She later married Raymond J. Harland who preceded her in death on May 19, 1997.

While living in Quincy, Erma was an active member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ and was a charter member of the Salem Couples Club and active with the Choristers.

Erma was employed at State Street Store for many years and also helped her husband Don in his business, Don's Sweet Shop.

Surviving are two sons, Jan Schmidt and his wife Janet of Colorado and Curt Schmidt and his wife Mirdza of Stacy, MN.; a daughter, Lynn Schmidt of Ashburn, VA.; a step daughter, Pat Edquist and her husband James of Mt. Grove, MO; a step son, James Harland and his wife Donna of Salt Lake City, UT.; a sister in law, Marilyn Schmidt of Quincy; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many loving and caring friends.

Erma was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; two sons, Kim Schmidt and Mark Schmidt; a brother; and two sisters.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 17, 2001 at 11:00 in Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ by the Rev. Stephen Schuette. The family will meet with friends following the services in the Salem Church Hall. Private family inurnment will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
