| Mr. Forrest P. Haskins Sr., 80, of 4826 North 24th, died at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday (May 1, 2001) in his home. Born March 16, 1921 in Quincy, Mr. Haskins was the son of Alvie P. and Dorothy Merritt Haskins. He married C. Elaine Adair on August 8, 1942 in St. Charles, MO. She survives. Mr. Haskins attended Ellington Memorial Presbyterian Church and was a former member of the North Side Boat Club, Ducks Unlimited and the N. R. A. He was a Charter Member of Cedar Crest Country Club and was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman. Mr. Haskins was employed as a deputy sherrif in Adams County for 8 years and later worked for 21 years in the Mintrate and Research Departments at Moorman Manufacturing Company until his retirement. Also surviving are three sons Jerry Haskins of Lake Dallas, TX., Cecil E. Haskins and his wife Cathy of Quincy and Forrest Haskins Jr. and his wife Teri of Chapel Hill, N. C.; three daughters, Neysa Turpin and her husband Gary of Coatsburg, Marsha Bunge and her husband Randy of Golden and Pamela Noble of St. Louis, MO.; 14 grandchildren, Andrea Rodriguez and her husband Jose' of Dallas, TX., Natasha Jeffrey of Denton, TX., Kimberly Cox and Angela Hahn and her husband Rusty all of Coatsburg, Michael Cummings of Osage Beach, MO., Michelle Ward and her husband Stacey of Barry, Melanie Oulson of Orange Park, FL., Christopher Haskins and his wife Michelle, Chad Haskins and Chuck Haskins all of Quincy, Jack Haskins and Paige Haskins both of Chapel Hill, N. C., and Lindsey Noble and Ashley Noble both of St. Louis, MO.; five step grandchildren, Heather Bunge, Ryan Bunge and Justin Bunge all of Golden and Jason Turpin of Coatsburg and Angel Solak and her husband Brian of Elkins, AR.; a great granddaughter, Alyssa Rusher of Coatsburg; four step great grandchildren, Brooke Nicole Woodard of Denton, TX., Sommer Hahn of St. Louis, MO. and Gabe Hahn and Taylor Hahn both of Melbourne, FL.; a brother in law, William Garrison of Moreno Valley, CA.; one nephew; one niece; and several great nieces and great nephews. Mr. Haskins was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Alvie Jerome Haskins Jr.; and a sister, June Garrison. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Richard McFarlin and Rev. Keith Delap. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park. Visitation will be Friday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice or Ellington Memorial Presbyterian Church. |
