Miss Debra K. Herzog, 43, of Barry Community Care Center, formerly of Quincy and Springfield, died at 11:00 a.m. Saturday (July 5, 2003) in Barry Community Care Center. Born September 28, 1959 in Quincy, Debra was the daughter of Leo and Betty L. Potts Herzog. Miss Herzog was a 1977 graduate of Quincy High School. She received many awards for her volunteer work for Muscular Dystrophy and Independent Living in Springfield. She also was the editor of the newsletter at the Barry Community Care Center for several years. She enjoyed making signs and cards on her computer. Surviving is her father, Leo Herzog and step mother Dolores Leebold Herzog of Quincy; one brother, David Herzog and his wife Dawn of Quincy; two nieces, Makayla Herzog of Quincy and Taylor Mueller of Warrenton, MO.; and three nephew, Joshua and Ryan Herzog of Quincy, and Joe Mueller of Warrenton, MO. She was preceded in death by her mother and her sister, Dena Herzog Morrison. Cremation rites were accorded to Miss Herzog. Private family inurnment will take place at a lager date. There is no service planned, but friends are invited to attend the visitation Tuesday evening form 5:00 until 7:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Debra Herzog Memorial Fund.
