| Mr. Alan LeRoy Hess, 60, of 505 Harrison, died at 5:35 a.m. Monday (March 18, 2002) in Blessing Hospital. Born December 5, 1941 in Quincy, Alan was the son of James Foster and Ethel Barlow Hess. He married Christina M. Baze on August 13, 1985 in Ursa. She survives. Alan enjoyed fishing and camping and cherished the time he spent with his granddaughter, Hannah. He was employed as a machinist at a hydro-electric company in California for several years. Also surviving is a daughter, Angela Sue Christian and her husband Jerry of Sun Valley, CA.; three sons, Alan Hess Jr. of Sun Valley, CA., and Samuel Fisher of Quincy and Larry Kissee of Alton, IL.; two granddaughters, Candace Christian of Sun Valley, CA. and Hannah Fisher of Quincy; six brothers, Richard Hess of Chicago, James Hess and his wife Jean of Quincy, Earl Hess of Quincy, Russell Hess and his wife Virginia of Quincy, Gerald Hess and his wife Carol of Maywood, MO., and Gene Hess of Boise, ID; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Barbara Dyer. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev.Roger Selves. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 and Thursday morning until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Alan L. Hess Memorial Fund. |
