| Mrs. Catherine Hester, 77, of 710 S. 16th, died at 5:10 a.m. Tuesday (April 9, 2002) in Maple Lawn Nursing Home
in Palmyra, MO. Born November 10, 1924, in Quincy, Catherine was the daughter of Albert and Helen Hellhake Miller. She married Bruce Hester on November 4, 1945 in Port Orchard, WA. He survives. Catherine was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and the South Side Boat Club. She was employed at Small Arms Plant in St. Louis during WWII; Quincy Shoe Factory; Quincy Cleaners; SS Kresge Company downtown; and Our Lady of Angels Seminary until her retirement. Also surviving are two daughters, Ms. Connie Hester, and Mrs. Margaret Donald and her husband Bill, both of Quincy; four sons, Terry and Glenda Hester of Royce, TX., James and Sheila Hester of Quincy, Ted and Jennifer Hester of Collinsville, IL., and Larry and Joan Hester of Quincy; sixteen grandchildren, Jennifer Hutton, Holly Hester, and Steven Hester, all of Quincy, Lisa Herlich of Portland, TX., Christian Hester of Austin, TX., Beth Harness of Quincy, Laura Tweedy of Meredosia, IL., Brandon Hester of Jacksonville, IL., Andrew Hester, Sarah Brown, and Emily Hester, all of Collinsville, IL., Bill Donald III of Peoria, IL., and Aaron Donald, Heather Donald, Sonia Lee Hester, and Shane Hester, all of Quincy; and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Albert Miller Jr.; and one sister, Marjorie Guthrie. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 9:30 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home and 10:00 a.m. in St. Francis Catholic Church by the Rev. Jeff Holtman. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 and Friday morning until the time of services at the funeral home. A Prayer Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to American Lung Association or the Two Rivers Regional Council of Public Officials First Choice Program. |
