Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Hetzler, 81, of 2018 South 39th St., formerly of
Jacksonville and Virginia, IL, died Friday (November 19, 2004) at Timber
Point Health Care Center in Camp Point, IL.

Born August 9, 1923 in Kansas City, MO., Beth was the daughter of
Charles M. And Hazel Early McCune. She married Clarence Littig on September
16, 1944 in Jacksonville, IL. He died January 23, 1971. She then married
Wilbur Hetzler on February 5, 1972 in Jacksonville, IL. He survives.

Mrs. Hetzler was a graduate of Lewistown High School in Lewistown, MO.
and was a 1947 graduate of Passavant Hospital School of Nursing in
Jacksonville. She was a nurse for Dr. Robert Hartman for 25 years and later
worked 19 years as a nurse for the American Red Cross Blood Donor Program in
the Galesburg region while living in Quincy. She also provided nursing
services many years at the International Order of Rainbow Girls Camp in
Bloomington. She was a member of the Salem Evangelical United Church of
Christ, a member and past worthy matron of Grace Whipple Chapter #312 Order
of Eastern Star, and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Also surviving are two daughters, Sharon Littig Krohe of Virginia, IL.
and Debbie Lamb and her husband Dick of Davenport, IA; a son, David Hetzler
and his wife Clairice of Quincy; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a
sister in law, Nadine McCune of Monticello, KY.; and several nieces and
nephews.

She was preceded in death by a great grandson, Zechariah Insel-Hetzler,
a son-in-law, Gale Krohe and two brothers, James H. McCune and one in
infancy.

Visitation will be held Tuesday afternoon from 2:00 until 7:00 at the
Gillham-Buchanan Funeral Home in Jacksonville where the family will meet
friends from 5:00 until 7:00.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 at the
Zehender Stormer Robinson Cookson Funeral Home by Pastor Charles Hetzler and
Pastor Kevin McGinnis. Burial will be at the Lewistown Cemetery in
Lewistown, MO.

Visitation will be held Wendesday morning from 11:30 until the time of
services at the funeral home in Quincy.

Memorials may be made to Transitions of Western Illinois, American Red
Cross, or Children Action Network (advocacy for abused children)
