Mr. Hubert S. Hively, 77,
of 2207 College, died at 3:15 a.m. Tuesday (March 25, 2003) in Blessing
Hospital.
Born October 15, 1925 in Barry, Hubert was the son of Jacob J. and Alta M.
Reeves Hively. He married Dorothy Newman on September 22, 1945 in Hannibal, Missouri. She survives.
Mr. Hively was active with the Adams County Olde Tyme Association. He was employed
at Electric Wheel and later for Moorman Manufacturing in the Livestock Equipment Division until his retirement.
Also surviving is a daughter, Ginny Smith and her husband Steve of Quincy;
two sons, Garry Hively and his close friend Linda Little of Quincy and Gregory
Hively of Ashboro, N. C.; a daughter in law, Lenora Hively of Blue Island,
IL.; three grandchildren, Amerika Kies and her husband Dan of Burlington, IA.
and Sarah Hively
and Katie Hively both of Blue Island, IL.; two step grandchildren, Stephanie
Earnest of Quincy and Scott Smith of Pottstown, PA.; five great grandchildren;
and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hively was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Louis, Harold
and Robert Hively; and three sisters, Geneva Lawrence, Geraldine McQueen and Helen Masterson.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:30 in Zehender Robinson
Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. George Tomko. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Friday until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Wegener's Granulomatosis Association.
