Mr. Henry Hohne, 82, of 2107 S. 23rd., died at 1:00 a.m. Sunday (December 7, 2003) in Blessing Hospital. Born December 3, 1921 in Germany, Henry was the son of Martin and Gertrude Kroker Hohne. He first married Linda Schrotte on December 30, 1948. She preceded him in death on October 12, 1978. He then married Leni Weiland on January 12, 1983 in Quincy. She survives. Henry was a member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ. He enjoyed gardening and traveling. He was employed as an engineer at General Motors in Warren, MI. for 24 years retiring in 1980 and was a member of the United Auto Workers Local Union #160. Surviving is his wife Leni, two sons, Frank Hohne of Seminole, FL. and Reiner Hohne and his wife Sheila of Rochester, MI.; a step son, Mike Hughes of Hamilton, IL.; two step daughters, Diane Kelehan and her husband Jim of Quincy and Cindy Kirkland and her husband Scott of Jacksonville, FL.; and eight grandchildren, Christopher and Nicholas Hohne of Rochester, MI., Matthew Hohne of Seminole, FL., Ryan Faust of Quincy, Mitchell and Matthew Kirkland, both of Jacksonville, FL., and Cameron and Caleb Kelehan, both of Quincy. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Guenter Hohne. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 12:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Rev. Stephen Schuette. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 4:00 until 6:00 and Wednesday morning until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ. |
