BILLY T. HOLTMAN
 
Fortified by the sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Mr. Billy Taylor Holtman, 76, of 1501 Locust, died at 11:11 p.m. Friday (June 14, 2002) in his home.

Born September 3, 1925 in Quincy, Mr. Holtman was the son of William H. and Mamie Taylor Holtman. He married Ruth E. Kinman on May 19, 1951 in Good Hope, IL. She survives.

Bill was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Quincy Chapter of the Retired Firefighters Association, Quincy American Legion Post #37, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Elks Lodge #100, and a life member of Twin Oaks Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and antique dealer. Mr. Holtman served his country in the U. S. Army Air Corps during WW II.

A graduate of Quincy High School, Mr. Holtman was a firefighter for the Quincy Fire Department from 1955 to 1985 and was currently an Illinois State Fire Marshall Prevention Inspector.

Also surviving are two sons, Rev. Father Jeffrey Holtman of Maryville, IL. and James Holtman and his wife Helen of Quincy; three daughters, Jennifer Hester and her husband Ted of Collinsville, IL., Julie Hadler and her husband Craig of Quincy and Sandra Crane and her husband Gene of Monroe City, MO.; two stepsons, Ronald Williams and his wife Lori of Raton, NM. and Roger Williams of Phoenix, AZ.; 17 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a sister, Catherine Reuschel and her husband Ben of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Holtman was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Carl Holtman.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home and at 10:30 in St. Boniface Catholic Church by Rev. Jeff Holtman and Rev. John Carberry. Burial with military honors by Quincy American Legion Post #37 will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday evening from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday morning until the time of services at the funeral home. A Christian Wake Service will be held Monday evening at 7:30 at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice, St. Boniface Church or the Quincy Humane Society. In your kindness, please pray for the repose of his soul.
