Mr. Ervin Ippensen, 80, of 1127 Springlake Rd., died at 1:55 p.m. Wednesday (November 21, 2001) in Blessing Hospital.

Born March 15, 1921 in Quincy, Ervin was the son of August C. and Emma Rabe Ippensen. He married Mildred "Millie" Schoch on October 29, 1944 in Quincy. She survives.

Ervin was a member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ, Salem Couples Club, Men's Brotherhood, and served on the Church Council and the Greenmount Cemetery Board for several years. He was a graduate of Quincy High School and was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #535 and the Farm Bureau Prime Timers. Ervin also enjoyed playing cards.

Mr. Ippensen farmed all his life in Riverside Township until his retirement. He also was a heavy equipment operator and a partner in the Ippensen-Simpson Allis Chalmers Dealership in Quincy from 1958 to 1963.

Also surviving is one son, Larry Ippensen and his wife Gerri of Quincy; three grandchildren, Dennis Ippensen and his wife Katie of Liberty, Sherri Fuller and her husband Terry of Ursa, and Alan Ippensen of Quincy; four great grandchildren, Lane Ippensen of Liberty, and Jordan, Parker, and Lindsey Fuller, all of Ursa; one brother, Alvin H. Ippensen and his wife Anna of Quincy; and one sister, Laura Robertson of Golden.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Beulah Ippensen, and Norma Speckhart.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Stephen Schuette. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. and Saturday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Salem Church or the Adams County Cancer Society.
