Mrs. Virginia M. Jackson, 76, of 525 Chestnut, died at 11:07 p.m. Thursday (January 29, 2004) in Blessing Hospital. Born November 24, 1927 in Marshill, Maine, Virginia was the daughter of Chester and Hazel Wood McKenzie. She married Wayne Jackson on November 15, 1946 in Key West, Florida. He survives. Virginia attended Grace United Methodist Church and was a life member of the Washington School PTA. She loved to cook for her family and dearly loved to have all of her grandkids around the house. Survivors include her husband, Wayne; a son, Anthony D. Jackson Jr. and his wife Mary Beth of Peoria, IL.; six grandchildren, Bill Owens and his wife Theresa of Quincy, Shawna Fuhrman and her husband Mike of Coatsburg, Anthony D. Jackson III and his wife Lori of New Jersey, Eric Jackson and his wife Tracy of Knoxville, TN., Kim Jackson of Peoria and Dawn Jackson of St. Charles, MO.; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her parents; a son, William Edward Jackson; a daughter, Helen "Penny" DeWitt; five brothers; and two sisters. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Franklin Silas. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday evening from 4:00 to 6:00 and Tuesday until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be American Lung Association. |
