Mrs. Bertha A. Jarvill, 96, of the North Adams Home, formerly of Quincy, died at 6:15 p.m. Sunday (July 6, 2003) in the home. Born March 13, 1907 in Payson, Bertha was the daughter of Alexander Clarence and Bessie Fuller Cooper. She married Floyd E. Jarvill on August 7, 1925 in Quincy. He died October 26, 1977. Mrs. Jarvill was of the Methodist faith. She enjoyed gardening and quilting. In past years she and her husband provided a day care service in their home. Surviving are two sons, Robert Jarvill and his wife Lu of Quincy, and Charles "Chuck" Jarvill and his wife Ann of Pekin; three grandchildren, David Jarvill of Payson, Steven Jarvill and his wife Lori of Pekin, and Craig Jarvill and his wife Marilyn of Reston, VA.; two great grandchildren, Drae Jarvill & his wife Melissa and Dara Jarvill, all of Pekin; one brother, Vernon Cooper and his wife Letha of Plainville; two sisters, Pansy Brewer of Ozark, MO., and Katherine Hankins and her husband Jim of Barry; and several neices and nephews including Barbara Cooper McEwen of Quincy, who formerly made her home with the Jarvill's. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; five brothers, Virgil, Austin, Elmer, Arthur, and Ralph Cooper; and four sisters, Emma Snow, Annamae Kurtz, Iola Cooper, and Edith Cooper in infancy. Graveside services will be held Thursday morning at 10:30 in the Payson New Cemetery by Rev. Ron Cox. Visitation will be held Thursday morning from 8:30 until 10:15 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Payson. Memorials may be made to North Adams Home or to Blessing Hospice. |
