| Mrs. Ethel Jarvis, 92, of the Good Samaritan Home, died at 7:50 p.m. Sunday (April 7, 2002) in Good Samaritan Home. Born June 29, 1909 in Quincy, Ethel was the daughter of Ernest and Lola Roberts Harter. She married George B. Jarvis on June 25, 1927 in Keokuk, IA. He died September 28, 1986. Mrs. Jarvis was of the Methodist Faith. She enjoyed playing Bingo and listening to music. Ethel was employed at Premier Laundry for many years retiring in 1972. Surviving is a daughter, Lola Foulk and her husband Sheldon of Quincy; two sons, George Jarvis Jr. and his wife Alice of Galesburg, IL. and Don Jarvis and his wife Merna of Davenport, IA.; nine grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 13 great great grandchildren. Mrs. Jarvis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son Max Duane Jarvis; two brothers, Robert Harter and Lawrence William Harter; and a sister, Elsie Dorethy. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Steve Disseler. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Macomb. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 and Wednesday until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Home. |
