Mr. Glenn W. Jenkins, 96, of Sunset Home, formerly of Savannah, MO., died at 8:45 a.m. Friday (July 18, 2003) in the home. Born December 30, 1906 in Bolckow, MO., Glenn was the son of Joseph and Inez Dobbs Jenkins. He married Ulva M. Lanning on April 15, 1931 in Savannah, MO. She died April 13, 1990. He later married Mary Holt Aebersold on October 12, 1991. She died October 16, 1998. Mr. Jenkins was a member and past deacon of the Savannah Christian Church. He was a member of the Savannah Masonic Lodge #71 and the Rosendale Lions Club. Glenn farmed for many years in the Rosendale, MO. area until his retirement in 1978. Surviving are two sons, Larry Jenkins and his wife Gloria of Quincy, and G. Willard Jenkins and his wife Kay of Waterloo, IA.; eight grandchildren, Mike Jenkins and his wife Theresa of Slinger, WI., Ross Jenkins and his wife Chris of St. Louis, MO., Julie Nitzche and her husband Larry of Hudson, OH., Dave Jenkins and his wife Nancy of Coon Rapids, MN., Lori Oldson and her husband Todd of Carmel, IN., Shelly Van Donge and her husband Kevin of St. Petersburg, FL., and Peggy Muegge and her husband Dave and Tricia Arnsman and her husband Dan, all of Mendon; and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives; and two brothers, Cecil and Walter Jenkins. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:00 in Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah, MO. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Joseph, MO. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 at the funeral home in Savannah, MO. Memorials may be made to Sunset Home.
