Mrs. Pauline E. Jenkins, 83, of Good Samaritan Home, went to be reunited with her husband, parents, and our Heavenly Father on Sunday, February 8, 2004 at 4:08 a.m. Born February 3, 1921 in Lima Township, Pauline was the daughter of Fred and Edith Kropp Gerhardt. She married Elvy E. Jenkins on November 14, 1939 in Napoleon, Ohio. He died July 16, 1981. Mrs. Jenkins was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ. She volunteered at the Villa Kathrine, John Wood Community College, and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program. She was dedicated to her church and family and will be dearly missed by all. Pauline was employed by Harris Broadcasting for 20 years retiring in 1985. Surviving are two daughters, June P. Etter and Judith D. Etter, both of Quincy; one son, Phillip E. Jenkins and his wife Connie of Decatur; six grandchildren, Gregory L. Etter and his wife Dawn, Pamela J. Davis and her husband Mark, and Mark D. Etter and his wife Sheila, all of Quincy, Jeffry A. Jenkins of Decatur, Bradley G. Jenkins and his wife Heather of Edwardsville, and Angela L. Jenkins of Decatur; eight great grandchildren, Collen G., Cameron L., and Carson L. Etter, Shannon E. and Michael F. Davis, and Trenton M., Quinnton A., and Nyssa M. Etter; three sisters, Gwendolyn Schmitt, Dorothy Scheuermann and her husband Robert, and Sandra Pieper and her husband Steve, all of Quincy; two brothers, Wayne Gerhardt and his wife Kathy of Cambria, CA., and Gene Gerhardt and his wife Lucy of Tioga; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Willis Gerhardt, and a niece, Sharon Schmitt. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:30 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Rev. Timothy White. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 and Thursday morning until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Home, Blessing Hospice, or Trinity United Church of Christ. |
