Mrs. Nadine G. Johnson, 76, of 527 Broadway, died at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday (March 22, 2001) in her home.

Born February 19, 1925 in Durham, MO., Mrs. Johnson was the daughter of Russell and Grace Langford Tate. She married Edward L. Johnson on March 28, 1942 in Taylor, MO. He died on March 19, 1982.

Mrs. Johnson was a volunteer for many years at the Seventh Day Adventist Center and for Catholic Charities. She enjoyed quilting, playing cards and cherished the time she spent with her family.

Surviving is a daughter, Carol Rankin and her husband Larry of Quincy; two sons, Carl Dean Johnson and his wife Sally and Alvah Johnson and his wife Margaret Sue both of Quincy; 15 grandchildren, Adam Johnson, Gina Clark, Tammy Clark, Schantelle Holt, Amy Deming, Laura Duesterhaus, Deborah Lucas, Kimberly Johnson, Chelly Richeson, Thad Johnson, James Johnson, Leanne Young, Christine Johnson, Lisa Anderson and Rodney Rankin; 32 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two brothers, Wilford "Bill" Tate of Redondo Beach, CA. and Edward Tate of Maywood, MO.; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Edward Russell Johnson; and a brother, Darrell Tate.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. George Tomko. Burial will be in the Durham Cemetery in Durham, MO.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday until the time of services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Quincy Senior Citizens Center.
