| Mrs. Rebecca F. Johnson, 90, of 12205 Wensley Rd in Florissant, Missouri., died at 1:25 a.m. Monday (December 2, 2002) at Bentwood Nursing Center, where she had been a resident for the last several months. Born November 5, 1912 in Palmyra, Mo., Rebecca was the daughter of Thomas Leslie and Mary Johnson Fonza. She married Richard Johnson in December of 1931. He preceded her in death in August 1973. Rebecca was employed at the Illinois Veterans Home for 27 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Bethel A.M.E. Church and enjoyed bowling. Surviving is a son, Thomas R. Johnson of Quincy; four grandchildren, Deborah D. Brown and her husband Raynard of Florissant, MO., Richard LoBato and Vincent LoBato and his wife Patty all of Denver, CO. and Cheri Cartmill of Quincy; nine great grandchildren; a sister, Lillian Newman of Los Angles, CA.; and several great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers; and eight sisters. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Rev. Donald Bailey. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday afternoon from 12:00 until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Bethel A. M. E. Church. |
