Mrs. Alice Kaiser, 82, of the Sunset Home, formerly of RR 5 Quincy, died at 11:30 a.m. Sunday (August 24, 2003) in the home. Born October 19, 1920 in Adams County, Illinois, Mrs. Kaiser was the daughter of John Benjamin and Edna Julia Larimore Thompson. She married Marion F. Kaiser on October 27, 1939. He preceded her in death on April 15, 1996. Mrs. Kaiser was a member of Bluff Hall United Church of Christ and the Women's Fellowship group, Adams County Home Extension and the chapter Order of Eastern Star. She was a volunteer for many years at the Blessing Hospital Tea Room and enjoyed playing cards, bowling, golfing and gardening. Surviving are two sons, Steve Kaiser and his wife Carolyn of Payson and Stuart Kaiser of Quincy; two daughters, Sarah Corrigan and her husband Tim of Quincy and Susan Burgin and her husband Tom of Western Springs, IL.; six grandchildren, Scott Kaiser and his wife Jackie of Lexington, IL., Katherine Hinthorne and her husband Brent of Winchester, IL., Penny Dirks and her husband Matt of St. Charles, IL., David Corrigan, Andrew Corrigan and Melissa Corrigan all of Quincy; three great grandchildren, Kelsey Kaiser, Mackenzie Kaiser and Lauryn Hinthorne; and a brother, L. Ben Thompson of Manassas, VA.; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Kaiser was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, John Thompson. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 in the Bluff Hall United Church of Christ by the Rev. Rick Welch. Burial will be in the Bluff Hall Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy and Wednesday morning from 10:00 until the time of services at Bluff Hall Church. Memorials may be made to the Sunset Home or Bluff Hall United Church of Christ. |
