LEROY WILLIAM KARHOFF
 

Mr. Leroy William Karhoff, 86, of 1016 Gerard Ave., died at 10:20 p.m. Tuesday (February 24, 2004) in his home.

Born August 19, 1917 in Edina, MO., Leroy was the son of Charles and Pearl Kassahn Karhoff. He married Agnes Muriel Sheridan in December of 1939. She died July 12, 1978.

Leroy was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Cyril A. Graham American Legion Post #261 of Edina, MO., and the Knights of Columbus in Edina, MO. He was active at the Senior Citizen Center where he was a member of the card club and enjoyed square dancing. Mr. Karhoff served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII.

Leroy was employed as a contractor for several years. He later worked for Quincy Soybean Company for 25 years retiring in 1982.

Surviving are two daughters, Marilyn Bom and her husband Joseph of Longmont, CO., and Marsha Burnett and her husband Robert of Bloomington, IL.; two sons, Hugh Stephen Karhoff of Quincy, and Richard L. Karhoff of Mexico, MO.; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one brother, Leslie Karhoff and his wife Helen of Edina, MO.; and three sisters, Loretta Comley of Edina, MO., Lola Mae Klusmeyer and her husband Bob of Ft. Myers, FL., and Rita Bono and her husband Andrew of St. Louis, MO.

He was preceded in death by his wife; and three brothers, Leon, Lloyd, and Leonard Karhoff.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 9:30 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home and at 10:00 at St. Mary's Catholic Church by Rev. Michael Kuse. Graveside services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:00 at St. Joseph Cemetery in Edina, MO. by Rev. Bill Peckman with Military Honors being conducted by Cyril A. Graham American Legion Post #261 of Edina, MO. and the Knox County V.F.W. Memorial Post #4822.

Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 at the funeral home. A prayer service will be held at 5:00 at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church.

He will be remembered as a hardworking, self-disciplined, and dedicated father and will be greatly missed by his children.
