| Mr. Marvin L. Kelley, 80, of 219 South 14th, died at 12:40 a.m. Thursday (February 14, 2002) in Blessing Hospital. Born January 22, 1922 in Quincy, Marvin was the son of Lloyd and Ida Schnelle Kelley. He married Eva L. Green on March 28, 1942 in Palmyra, MO. She died June 22, 1996. Marvin was a member of Luther Memorial Church. He served his country in the U. S. Army during WW II. Mr. Kelley enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.. Marvin worked for Chanen's Auto Supply before moving to California where he worked for Fiesta Pools in South Gate, CA. for 7 1/2 years. He moved back to Quincy in 1965 and was employed by Electric Wheel, a division of Firestone Tire and Rubber until his retirement. He later worked part time as a courier for Blessing Hospital and Denman Medical for many years. Surviving are three daughters, Patricia Muegge and her husband Charles of Raleigh, N. C., Peggy Wear and her husband Howard and Marva Gilbert and her husband Tom both of Quincy; a son, Ronald Leroy Kelley and his wife Mary Ann of Canyon Lake, CA.; nine grandchildren, Bryan Kelley, Darren Kelley, Doug Muegge, Shelley Moseley and her husband Norman, Kelly Muegge, Jennifer Trott, Cindy Mock and her husband John, Dana Bliven, and Ryan Gilbert; 15 great grandchildren; three brothers, Lloyd Kelley Jr. and his wife Geneva of Sun Lake, AZ., Gerald Kelley and his wife Shirley of Smyrna, TN., and Richard Kelley and his wife Jacqueline of Quincy; two sisters, Marilyn Puls of Augusta and Phyllis Jackson and her husband David of Overland Park, KS.; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Kelley was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, Michael Kelley; a grandson, Kevin Wear; a great granddaughter, Caitlin Mock; three brothers, Jackie, Robert and Kenneth Kelley; and three sisters, Barb Hess, Patsy "Evelyn" Schildt, and Irene Waters. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Lee Uden. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday afternoon from 12:00 until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or the Blessing Foundation for Hospice. |
