| Mrs. Mabel E. Ringler Ketzler, 99, of Sunset Home, formerly of 714 South 14th, died at 2:40 a.m. Saturday (August
25, 2001) in Sunset Home. Born November 10, 1901 in O'Fallon, Illinois, Mabel was the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Rabel Robinson. She married George Ringler on November 18, 1919 in San Antonio, TX. He died on June 10, 1955. She married Carl Ketzler in 1957 in Quincy. He died in 1970. Mabel was a member of Luther Memorial Church where she was active with the choir and was a past president of the Library Guild and the Mary and Martha Sunday School Class. She was also a past president of the Emerson School PTA. Mabel loved music and taught piano for many years and sang for 367 funerals of her friends and family. Surviving is a son, Norman E. Ringler and his wife Mary Lou of Quincy; a daughter, Marjorie Jean Loos of Stockton, MO.; 12 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mabel was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a son, Robert Ringler; a daughter, Betty Lepper; two brothers, Albert H. Robinson and Clifford L. Robinson; two sons in law, Herbert Loos Jr. and Earl "Mike" Lepper; and a daughter in law, Bonnie Ringler. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:30 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral home by the Rev. Jan Bengston. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Luther Memorial Church Choir. |
