| Mr. Lee W. King, 86, of Plainville, died at 9:15 a.m. Saturday (September 15, 2001) in Blessing Hospital. Born March 26, 1915 in Fletcher, OK., Lee was the son of Harry Lee and Rachel Mae Whaley King. He married Jonquille Vivian Wagy on June 24, 1939 in Canton, MO. She died on April 10, 1984. Lee was a member of the First Baptist Church of Plainville and a 1933 graduate of Quincy High School. He was also a 57 year member and Past Master of Plainville Lodge No. 529, a 52 year member and Past Worthy Patron of Plainville O. E. S No. 174 which is now Pike Chapter O. E. S. No. 20, and was an active member of Quincy Consistory, Quincy Shrine Club, Ainad Shrine Temple of East St. Louis, Quincy High Twelve Club, and the National Rural Letter Carriers Association. He served his country during WW II in the U. S. Army with several engineering units. Lee began his career with the U. S. Postal Service in 1943 as a railway transportation clerk. In 1960 he became the rural letter carrier in Plainville, a position he held until his retirement in 1981. Surviving is a daughter, Ranella Lee Pribble and her husband Charles of Ely, IA.; a grandson, Charles L. Pribble II and his wife Stephanie of Omaha, NE; two great grandchildren, Conner Pribble and Bailey Pribble both of Omaha, NE.; a sister, Edna Mae Warner of Wheaton, IL.; a brother, Eldon H. King of Marengo, IL.; and several nieces and nephews. Lee was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a brother, J. Fredrick King; and a sister, Leota Aden. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Pastor Bruce Willard. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday until the time of services at the funeral home. Plainville Lodge No. 529 will conduct Masonic Services Tuesday evening at 7:30 in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Quincy High Twelve Hospital Bed Fund. |
