ROBERT E. KLUSMEIER
 

Mr. Robert E. Klusmeier, 92, of the North Adams Home, formerly of 1509 South15th, died at 3:20 a.m. Saturday (August 3, 2002) in Blessing Hospital.

Born August 20, 1909 in LaGrange, MO., Robert was the son of Joseph and Clara Ruskamp Klusmeier. He married Florence "Kay" Neaterour on November 25, 1937 in Monticello, Missouri. She survives.

Robert graduated from LaGrange High School and Gem City Business College. He was a member of Central Baptist Church where he served on the Board of Trustees and as a Deacon. He was an active member of the Men's Bible Class and the Loyal Workers Class and delivered tapes from the Church to shut-in's in the Nursing Homes and private homes. Mr. Klusmeier was an avid gardener and loved growing and caring for his flowers.

Mr. Klusmeier was a bookkeeper for Odell Jewelers and later was employed by A & P Tea Company where he was an assistant manager. He served his country in WWII with the 13th MRU and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. After his return from the service he was employed by Kroger's until his retirement in 1974.

Also surviving is a niece, Noreene Carapella of Liverpool, N.Y.; and a Godchild, Jeri Wenneker of St. Louis, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Paul D. Klusmeier; and a sister-in-law, Arleene Neaterour.

Cremation rites were accorded. Memorial services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:30 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Rev. Charles Baker.

Memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church.
