Mr. Loren E. Kuhn, 94, of Good Samaritan Home, formerly of Payson, went to the home of his Lord at 11:45 a.m. Saturday (November 8, 2003) in the home.

Born June 10, 1909 in Burton Township, Loren was the son of Albert W. and Mollie Mollenhauer Kuhn. He married Ruth Meaders in October of 1936 in Richfield. She died in 1963. He later married Evelyn Schmidt on November 13, 1965 in Payson. She survives.

Loren was a very active member of the Payson United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Seymour High School and a member of the Adams County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed reading and gardening.

Mr. Kuhn was a life long farmer in the Payson area.

Surviving is his wife Evelyn of Payson; three daughters, Ellen Phelps and her husband Fred of Colesburg, IA., Linda Schrader and her husband Emmett of Warsaw, and Irene Eades and her husband Caroll of New Berlin, IL.; one daughter in law, Jeanette Elliott and her husband John of Liberty; four grandchildren, Gary Kuhn and his wife Pat of Payson, Michelle Klotzbach and her husband Mike of St. Peters, MO., Shawn Schrader and his wife Melissa of O'Fallon, MO., and Aaron Rainey and his wife Nikki of Ft. Scott, KS.; and several great grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; and one son, Leslie Kuhn.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:00 at the Payson United Methodist Church by Rev. Ron Cox. Burial will be in the Payson New Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Monday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Payson and Tuesday morning from 9:00 until the time of services at the church.

Memorials may be made to the Payson United Methodist Church.
