Mr. Kenneth Kurk, 76 of 1715 Monroe, died at 8:36 p.m. Tuesday (November 5, 2002) at the Illinois Veterans Home.

Born October 30, 1926 in Quincy, Kenny was the son of Albert and Lydia Linneman Kurk. He married Geraldine Bradley on September 1, 1951 in St. James Church in Quincy. She survives.

Kenny was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and the Great River Wood Carver's. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was active with the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Kurk served his country in the U. S. Navy during WW II.

Kenny was employed for 26 years at Moorman Manufacturing, retiring in 1986 as an electrical foreman.

Also surviving is a son, Brad Kurk and his wife Barb of Quincy; a daughter, Marcia Doyle and her husband Jack of Quincy; and six grandchildren, Kristy Kurk, Craig Kurk, Amanda Meyer, Brandon Meyer, Greg Meyer and Steven Doyle all of Quincy.

Mr. Kurk was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Marlin Rempfer. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Friday until the time of services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church or the Illinois Veterans Home Activity Fund.
