Mr. William "Ray "
Larimore, 102, of Good Samaritan Home, formerly of
Plainville, died at 10:25 p.m. Friday (September 17, 2004) in Good
Samaritan Home.
Born January 8, 1902 near Plainville, Ray was one of seven children
of
W. O. and Blanche Humphrey Larimore. He grew up on the family farm and
worked in his father's apple orchard. He married his High School
sweetheart, Martha Bock, and celebrated 51 years of married life. She
died
June 22, 1973.
Ray was a member of the Payson Congregational Church and a 69 year
member of the Plainville Masonic Lodge No. 529. He enjoyed dancing, playing
cards and visiting with friends and took an active interest in his
children's activities as well as many other children whom he generously
helped get a start in the 4-H Club with Angus calves.
A graduate of Payson High School, Ray was a grain and livestock farmer
and a registered Angus Herd Breeder for many years, retiring in 1969.
He
took and active role in his community, serving 16 years on the Payson
Board
of Education and as the Payson Township Supervisor for many years.
Survivors include three daughters, Dorothy Bellis and her husband
Robert and Gloria Jackson and her husband Charles both of Quincy and
Caroline "Cally" Larimore of Santa Clara, CA.; a son, Larry
"Butch" Larimore
and his wife Guyeula of Hopkinsville, KY.; 12 Grandchildren, Kathy Galvan
and her husband Jesus of Albuqerque, N. M., Phil Bellis, David Bellis
and his wife Carri and Lynne Sparrow and
her husband Dennis all of Quincy, Grant Bellis and his wife Nancy of
Heyworth, IL., Annie Chaffin of Roodhouse, IL., Mark Larimore and his
wife
Marla of Plano, TX., Lorri Perreault and her husband Jay of Manhattan
Beach,
CA., Judy Batchelor and her husband Bob of Washington, IN., Leanne Thacker
and her husband Jeff of Zionville, IN., Cindy Eccles and her husband Jim
of
Broken Arrow, OK. and Chuck Jackson and his wife Laura of Champaign, IL.;

Great Grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Larimore was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Martha;
a
son, Ray L. Larimore; a daughter, Neva Ruyle; a granddaughter in law,
Anita
Bellis; three sisters, Edna Thompson, Alice Shaw and Mae McCutchan; and
three brothers, Merle Larimore, Harry Larimore and H. O. Larimore.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:30 in the New
Cemetery in Payson by the Rev. Steve Disseler.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 in the Zehender
Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy. Plainville Masonic Lodge
No. 529 will conduct services Tuesday evening at 7:00 at the funeral home.
