Miss Alberta F. Lauder, 79, of 1638 South 24th, died at 8:35 a.m. Monday (January 20, 2003) in Blessing Hospital. Born March 26, 1923 in Beardstown, Illinois, Alberta was the daughter of Edward E. and Maude Thixton Lauder. Alberta was of the Protestant Faith and enjoyed crafts. She was employed as a key operator for Motorola for 23 years. Surviving is a close friend, Frances Ackerman of Quincy; two sisters, Virginia Yancey of Durham, MO. and Lucy Mae Griffin of Havana, IL.; and several nieces and nephews. Miss Lauder was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Josephine Wolf; and five brothers, Donald, George, Cecil, Russell and Cletus. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m. in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday morning from 9:30 until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
