| Mr. Donald Elmo Lierly, 81, of the Timber Point Health Care Center, formerly of Kellerville, died at 3:30 p.m.
Monday (February 12, 2001) in Timber Point Health Care Center. Born April 9, 1919 in Brown County, IL., Mr. Lierly was the son of Frank E. and Jessie Fern Leapley Lierly. He married Glennis Deege on June 17, 1971 in Clayton. She survives. Mr. Lierly attended Xavier University in Dayton, Ohio. He served in the Army Air Corps during WW II. Elmo and Glennis farmed near Kellerville for 50 years until his retirement. He also raised and showed Arabian Horses for over 40 years, winning many awards. Mr. Lierly loved to travel and spend time with his family. He will be greatly missed. Also surviving are two daughters, Vicke Lierly and Paula Leever; a son, Neil Lierly; two grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Lierly and Nick Leever; a brother, Earl Lierly and his wife Mary Jane; a sister, Anita Roy and her husband Maurice; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Lierly was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marjorie Hendricks. Cremation rites were accorded to Mr. Lierly. There will be no services as requested by Mr. Lierly. Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. |
