| Mrs. Eula M. Lohr, 84, of Lawrence, Kansas, formerly of Quincy, died Saturday, December 1, 2001 in her home in
Lawrence, Kansas. Born February 16, 1917 in Lancaster, Missouri, Mrs. Lohr was the daughter of Guy and Edith Meredith Wardlow. She married Robert W. Lohr in July 1935. He preceded her in death on January 14, 1966. Mrs. Lohr was a member of Luther Memorial Church and was active with the Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce serving on several committees. She also had formerly been active with the PTA serving as President of the Washington School PTA. Mrs. Lohr was a former assistant manager and buyer for the Carson-Pirie-Scott Department Store in Quincy. She was well known for the fashion shows she conducted in the 1970's and early 1980's for the Women's City Club and other civic organizations and local companies. She formerly taught merchandising courses for Carson-Pirie-Scott Stores across the state and at Illinois State University in Normal. In the last four years of her career, she was in charge of purchasing for the bridal department for the chain of stores and conducted bridal shows across the state. She retired in 1982 and moved to Bloomington where she worked for Kardan's Boutique. She retired in 1986 and moved to Lawrence, Kansas to devote her life to her children and grandchildren. Surviving is a son, Robert W. Lohr and his wife Ruthie (Rose) of Overland Park, KS.; a daughter, Sandra Flachsbarth and her husband Lee of Lawrence, KS.; eight grandchildren, Cindy Borgstadt and her husband Thad of Lenexa, KS., Suzie Watkins and her husband Greg of Broken Arrow, OK., Duke Lohr and his wife Jill of Leawood, KS., Joel Flachsbarth and his wife Missy of Olathe, KS., Lance Flachsbarth and his wife Leslie of Lawrence, KS., Heather Flachsbarth and Brett Flachsbarth both of Overland Park, KS., and Emily Flachsbarth of Lawrence, KS.; seven great grandchildren, Nicki Borgstadt and Jenny Borgstadt both of Lenexa, KS., Luke Adair and Cacy Watkins both of Broken Arrow, OK., Kristin Lohr and Mitch Lohr both of Leawood, KS., and McKenzie Flachsbarth of Olathe, KS.; a great great grandchild, Tayla Kackley of Broken Arrow, OK.; and a special niece, Linda Karger Anderson and her husband Roger of Lake Bluff, IL. and their family. Mrs. Lohr was preceded in death by her parents; a step father, Floyd Henry; and a brother, Woody Wardlow Memorial services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Lee Uden. Inurnment will be in Greenmount Cemetery. The family will meet with friends on Saturday from 12:30 until the time of services at the funeral home and following the inurnment services at the Pier Restaurant in Quincy. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of the donors choice. |
