Miss Gladys F. Loos, 82, of the Good Samaritan Home, formerly of 621 South 19th, died at 4:55 a.m. Friday (January 24, 2003) in Good Samaritan Home. Born June 3, 1920 in Adams, Illinois, Gladys was the daughter of Walter and Caroline "Carrie" Wagner Loos. Gladys was a member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ and she attended Gem City Business College. She was employed in Washington D.C. at the Pentagon before moving back to Quincy where she worked in the office of Scudder-Gale Grocery Company. Surviving is a sister, Marie Williams and her close friend Fred "Fritz" Veile of Quincy; two nieces, Betty Milhauser Jobe and her husband Michael of Quincy and Mary Moenning and her husband Stan of Byron, CA.; and great nieces and great nephews. Miss Loos was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Eleinor Adams; and two brothers in law, Raymond Adams and Guy Williams. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:30 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Stephen Schuette and Rev. Steve Disseler. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday morning from 9:30 until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Salem Church or Good Samaritan Home. |
