| Mr. Donald E. Lord, 95, of Sycamore Health Care Center, formerly of 826 North 5th, died at 2:00 p.m. Saturday (January
26, 2002) in Sycamore Health Care Center. Born July 15, 1906 in Augusta, IL., Don was the son of Arthur and Myrta Rinehart Lord. He married Hazel Wolfe on July 15, 1930 in Carthage, IL. She died on December 22, 2001. Don and Hazel celebrated their 70th Anniversary in July, 2000. Don was of the Methodist Faith. He was a 50 year member of the Plymouth Masonic Lodge and Plymouth Order of Eastern Star and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagle and the Moose Lodge in Quincy. Don was employed by Standard Oil Company as a bulk truck driver for over 26 years, retiring in July 1971. Surviving are two daughters, Donna Babb of Quincy and Carol Sue Raymond of Orange Park, FL; three sons, Larry Lord and William Lord both of Tampa, FL, and Joe Lord and his wife Pamela of Plainville; 16 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Lord was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a daughter, Shirley Lord; an infant son; six brothers, Carroll, Rollo, Kenneth "Joe", Clyde, Burton and Raymond Lord; two sisters, Darlene Sullivan and Dorothy Ross; and a half sister, Gloria Duncan. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Roger Selves. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Augusta. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. and Thursday until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Sycamore Health Care Center Activity Department. |
