Mr. Mark A. Lyter, 50, of 5831 Lyter Rd., died at 6:40 p.m. Saturday (April 5, 2003) in his home. Born January 28, 1953 in Quincy, Mark was the son of Duke D. and Carol Ann Ginster Lyter. Mark was a graduate of Quincy Senior High School and attended Southern Illinois University. Mark was a graduate of Nashville Auto Diesel College and received his degree in Electronics Engineering from DeVry Institute of Technology in Chicago. He spent 15 years working as a Design Engineer for Raj Technology and Neotek Industries in Chicago. More recently, he had returned to Quincy to help his father on the family farm. Mark was also highly interested in the Indian Grave Drainage District especially in the pumping station. He possessed a keen and analytical grasp of all things mechanical and technical and his talent will be greatly missed. Surviving are his parents; one brother, Tim Luke Lyter and his wife Toni of Lake Zurich, IL.; four sisters, Lynda Kerr and her husband Robert of McDonough, GA., Karen Brumbaugh and her husband Kurt of Washougal, WA., Sara Lyter and her partner Larry Greenspon of Sarasota, FL., and Marshall, NC., and Teresa Lyter also of Marshall, NC.; an aunt, Kathy Lyter of Sarasota, FL.; two nieces, Caitlyn Kerr of McDonough, GA. and Veronica Lyter of Lake Zurich, IL.; four nephews, Andrew Kerr of McDonough, GA., Max and Austin Brumbaugh of Washougal, WA., and Daniel Lyter of Lake Zurich, IL. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Errett and Esther Lyter; and maternal grandparents, Earl and Viola Ginster. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 9:30 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home and at 10:00 in St. Boniface Catholic Church by Rev. John Carberry and Rev. John Kennedy. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 and Saturday morning until the time of services at the funeral home. A Christian Wake service will be held Friday evening at 5:00 in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Boniface Catholic Church or the Quincy Humane Society. |
