| Mrs. Thelma Mangold, 78, of 418 Washington, died at 12:30 a.m. Thursday (May 10, 2001) in Blessing Hospital. Born March 1, 1923 in Chicago, Thelma was the daughter of Vinton and Helen O'Brien McCabe. She married Marvin Lincoln Mangold on January 25, 1947 in Quincy. He died September 13, 1979. Mrs. Mangold was a member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ and the Women's Club of Triple Oaks. Thelma was a dedicated mother and grandmother and cherished the time she spent with her family. Thelma was employed in the Deli Department of K-Mart for many years. She was loved by her Co-workers and will be greatly missed. Surviving are two sons, Bruce Mangold and his wife Donna and Steve Mangold and his wife Sheryl both of Quincy; three daughters, Janis Brink and her husband Gary, Marva Bartels and her husband Larry and Sandra Gibson and her husband Jeff all of Quincy; 14 grandchildren, Jeremy Krisko of Champaign, IL., Sean Krisko and his wife Pat of Wichita Falls, TX., Sarah Krisko of Carbondale, IL., Jared Bartels of Normal, IL., and Beth Brink, Nicole Bartels, Jacob Bartels, Joshua Gibson, Jayme Gibson, Jenna Gibson, Jillian Gibson, Molly Mangold, Kayley Mangold and Amanda Mangold all of Quincy; a great grandson, Nicholas Krisko of Wichita Falls, TX.; a brother, Richard McCabe and his wife Shirley of Florissant, MO.; two sisters, Margaret Crites and her husband Tilton and Mary Bowen and her husband Jack both of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother in infancy, Joseph. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Stephen Schuette. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening from 4:00 to 8:00 and Saturday until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Salem Church or Sunset Home. |
