Mr. Gerald "Jerry" Wayne Manlove, 75 of Littleton, Colorado and Isla Mujered, Quintana Roo, Mexico, passed away June 4, 2002.

Born, their only son, on Easter Sunday, April 17, 1927 to Iva Ora (Miller and Wayne B. Manlove in Quincy.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was educated in Quincy and Reliance Wyoming until 1945, when he enlisted with the U.S. Navy. He was a Seaman 1cV6 USNR when discharged in 1946. He served as a motion picture operator, NTC, in San Diego, California from 1949 to 1958. Service was seen in the Naval Reserve. His last years were served as a flight officer in PBY UP771 unit based at Los Alamito, California doing submarine patrols. His great love was aviation, he was a private pilot and an A & P mechanic until medically retired in 1979. March 2, 1949, he wed Norma Joan Peters, daughter of Zora May (Riggs) and Wilber Barney Peters, in New London, Missouri. Theirs was a long and rich union of 53 years.

Surviving is his wife, Norma; son Brett D. and wife Susan (Holland) of Lake Forest, California; daughter Geralynn (Gerri) K. and husband Albert Vargas of Littleton, Colorado; stepmother Fern Manlove of Quincy; sister, Mrs. Ronald (Rosetta) Gunyan of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Mrs. Myron (Darlene) Overman of Butte, Montana, Mrs. David (Melody Ann) Melchior of Denver, Colorado and Shirley Cain of Quincy; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; 4 aunts, Mrs. Harold (Mildred) Egbers, Towanda, Illinois; Hazel Curtis, Roseville, Illinois; Lucille Bemis and Mildred McPike of Quincy and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, son Preston James; grandson, Jeremy Eugene Baber and two sisters, June Marie; Mrs. Robert (Jeanne Rae) Goodrich.

Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Deborah Lee Sebourn. Burial will in Round Prairie Cemetery near Plymouth, IL.

Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 and Monday morning until the time of services in the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and Round Prairie Cemetery.
