Mrs. Jessie L. Manton, 63, of 1539 Ohio, died at 12:15 p.m. Thursday (July 24, 2003) in Blessing Hospital.

Born August 5, 1939 in Fishhook, IL., Jessie was the daughter of William and Mary Bentley Meado. She married Glen Ray Manton on January 29, 1964. He died April 25, 2002.

Jessie was a member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed her family. She was formerly employed by the Brown County Home Health Care Department.

Surviving are three daughters, Tammy Kaufman and Peggy Manton, both of Quincy, and Ann Baldwin of Jerseyville, IL.; four sons, Robert Manton and his wife Bobbi of Keokuk, IA., Kevin Manton and his wife Julie of Wayland, MO., and Bill Bouchez and Robert Bouchez, both of Quincy; one step daughter, Patsy Weppler of Quincy; two step sons, Greg Manton and his wife Patty of Clayton, and Jerry Manton and his wife Deborah of Quincy; several grandchildren and step grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Willis Meado and his wife Jean of West Point, and Charles Meado and his wife Pat of Quincy; and a sister, Bertha Ann Weinant of Alton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Lozelle Meado; and three sisters, Louise Doane, Jaunita Tournear, and Wilma Kleinhene.

Cremation rites were accorded to Mrs. Manton. Graveside services will be held Monday morning at 10:00 in Greenmount Cemetery by Rev. James Riley.

There is no visitation, but friends are invited to attend the graveside service.

Memorials may be made to the Church of Christ.
