| Mr. Larry D. Mayfield, 54, of Hull, IL., died at 6:00 a.m. Thursday (July 12, 2001) in his home. Born June 25, 1947 in Beardstown, Larry was the son of Elmon and Rita Hultz Mayfield. He married Delores Anders on May 8, 1965 in Quincy. She survives. Larry attended the WTJR Healing Services. He played bass guitar and sang for many local bands, most recently with the Country Times Band. He was also an avid race fan and worked for the pit crew of the Mayfield Race Teams. Larry was employed as a truck driver for 35 years, retiring January 31, 2001 from the Schuster Truck Company of Lamars, IA. He also was a route driver for 9 years for the Quincy Herald Whig bundle drop. Also surviving is his father, Elmon Mayfield of Mt. Sterling; a daughter, Novilee "Dion" Hilgenbrinck and her husband Tim of Ursa; four sons, John Renier and his wife Melissa of Hannibal, MO., Brad Renier and his wife Donna of Quincy, Patrick Roy Mayfield and Laura of Oklahoma City, OK. and Wesley Dean Mayfield and his wife Brandy of Hull; 13 grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Larry was preceded in death by his mother; a granddaughter, Kirsten Renier; and a brother Dwayne Mayfield in infancy. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Bruce Rice. Burial will be in Burton Cemetery in Burton. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Larry Mayfield Memorial Fund. |
