| Mr. Robert McClean, 82, of 2930 Hampshire, died at 11:35 a.m. Sunday (August 26, 2001) in Methodist Hospital in
Peoria. Born November 28, 1918 in Quincy, Mr. McClean was the son of Irving "Nick" and Opal McClean. He married Eda Nelson on August 4, 1940 in Quincy. She survives. Mr. McClean was a member of Union United Methodist Church serving in all aspects of the church ministry and on many different boards including the Board of Missions, Board of Diagonal Ministries, Council of Ministries, and he was involved with the youth of the church and was a past member of the Youth Committee. Bob currently served on the church council and was Secretary of the Lay Speakers. His great love was mission work and he had served as treasurer of the Outreach Work Area. Bob also served on the Board of Directors of Sunset Home. Mr. McClean was employed at Electric Wheel a Division of Firestone Tire and Rubber Company for 47 years, retiring as the production manager. Also surviving is a son, Terrance Lee McClean and his wife Cindy of Brandon, FL.; a daughter in law, Linda Shannon and her husband John of Mesa, AZ.; four grandchildren, M. Allen McClean Jr. and his wife Joan, Tony McClean, Matthew McClean and Jamie Opiz; six great grandchildren, Rachelle McClean, Kaitlyn McClean, Nicole McClean, Allen Tyler McClean, Brett Opiz and Erianna Opiz; two brothers, Jack McClean and Bill McClean and his wife Cindy all of Fresno, CA.; a sister, Marilyn Goering and her husband Henry of Fresno, CA.; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. McClean was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael Allen McClean; and two sisters, Helen Artist and Norma Site. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:30 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Robert Morrell. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Union United Methodist Church or to Sunset Home. |
