| Mr. William C. McCleskey, 83, of the Illinois Veterans Home, formerly of RR 2 Ewing, MO., died at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday
(January 9, 2001) in Blessing Hospital. Born September 4, 1917 in Lewisburg, TN., Mr. McCleskey was the son of William and Carolyn Reed McCleskey. Mr. McCleskey was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed fishing, hunting, four wheeling and dancing. He served in the U. S. Navy during WW II. He was employed by Quincy Soybean Co. as a power and utility supervisor for many years until his retirement in 1978. Surviving is his companion, Catherine Drummond of Quincy; two sons, Daniel McCleskey and his wife Brenda of Hamilton and Joey McCleskey of Quincy; three grandchildren, Darren McCleskey of Quincy, Megan McCleskey and Madelyn McCleskey both of Hamilton; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. McCleskey was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Roger McCleskey, Hubert McCleskey and Robert "Bud" McCleskey; and a sister, Elizabeth. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Captain Timothy Best. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday until the time of services in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or the Salvation Army. |
