Mr. Robert J. McCormick, 59, of 415 Sumac in Payson, died at 4:00 p.m. Monday (January 22, 2001) in Blessing Hospital.

Born April 16, 1941 in North Hampton, Massachusetts, Mr. McCormick was the son of Robert J. and Rose Demers McCormick. He was married to Yoshi Uezato and later to Kathleen Demers.

Mr. McCormick enjoyed woodworking, riding his bicycle and motorcycle and helping others.

Mr. McCormick served in the U. S. Marine Corps, retiring in 1979 after 20 years, as Master Gunnery Sergeant. He served in Vietnam and was received many commendations and service ribbons. Following his retirement from the Marines, he was employed by Norwest Bank as Operations Manager in Omaha, Nebraska. He moved to Quincy in 1991 and was currently employed in Security at Blessing Hospital.

Surviving are four daughters, Naomi Rabe and her husband Joe and Laurie Rost and her husband Todd both of Quincy, Rene' Tardie and her husband Eugene of Berlin, VT. and Rennie Fisher and her husband Brian of San Antonio, TX; a son, Eric Hardy of Denver, CO.; seven grandchildren, Jacqueline Kaufman, Shayna Rost and Kelsey Rost all of Quincy, Amanda Hardy and Amber Hardy both of Council Bluffs, IA. and Lucy Fisher and Elijah Fisher both of San Antonio, TX.; a sister, Susan Kropelin; five brothers, Richard McCormick, Charles McCormick, Fred McCormick, Allen Walski and Paul Walski; an aunt, Emily Demers; cousins, Joe and Carol Demers; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. McCormick was preceded in death by his parents; and his step father, Joseph Walski.

Memorial services will be held Friday evening at 7:00 in Madison Park Christian Church by the Rev. Keith Ehresman.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00 until the time of services at the church. Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hosptial.
