| Kenneth McGinnis, 88, of the Good Samaritan Home, formerly of 3633 Briarwood, and the Plymouth and Augusta communities,
died Saturday (February 3, 2001) at 3:35 p.m. in Good Samaritan Home. Mr. McGinnis was born January 16, 1913, in Hancock Co. He was the son of Wm. Martin and Fredonia B. Alexander McGinnis. He married E. Rosalie Hoehne on February 8, 1939 in Keokuk, IA. She died May 30, 1987. Mr. McGinnis was a member of Grace United Methodist and was previously active in the Plymouth Methodist Church serving on various church committees. Kenneth graduated from Mendon High School in 1931. He was a member of the Hancock Co. Farm Bureau and had served on the school board of Plymouth Community School District # 319. He and his wife farmed in the Plymouth and Augusta communities for 43 years before retiring in 1982 and moving to Quincy. Surviving is one daughter, Dr. Ruth McGinnis of 1111 Oak Ave., St. Helena, CA 94574-2047 and many nieces and nephews. Kenneth was also preceded in death by his parents, a brother Thomas Warren McGinnis and a sister Mary Elizabeth McGinnis. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Disseler officiating. A later private burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery at Palmyra, Missouri. Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon from 1:30 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made the Grace Methodist Church or to Good Samaritan Home. |
