Mr. Craig L. McKay, 47, of rural Liberty, died at 1:07 a.m. Thursday (October 16, 2003) in St. John's Hospital in Springfield. Born April 5, 1956 in Quincy, Craig was the son of Charles Francis "Frank" and Margaret Marie Logan McKay. He married Tonia "Toni" Smith on November 6, 1981 in Quincy. She survives. Craig was a 1974 graduate of Christian Brothers High School. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and restoring Harley Davidson Motorcycles. He was currently employed as a salvage car buyer for Sam's Riverside in Des Moines, Iowa for over 13 years. Survivors include his wife; one son, James L. McKay of rural Liberty; his father and step mother, Frank and Clara McKay of Quincy; and one sister, Daphne Wyckoff of Seguin, TX. He was preceded in death by his mother and his maternal and paternal grandparents. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Rev. V. Lee Amsler. Burial will be in Shearer Cemetery near New Canton, IL. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 and Monday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.
