Mrs. Helen S. McQueen, 84, of North Adams Home, formerly of 106 W. State, Payson, died at 6:40 a.m. Monday (January 21, 2002) in the Home.

Born Feburary 11, 1917 in Tioga, IL., Helen was the daughter of Virgil V. and Emma Herzog McNay. She married Theodore H. "Ted" McQueen in 1953 in Quincy. He died May 27, 2001.

Helen was a member of the House of Prayer where she played the organ for worship. She also played for many weddings in the Payson and Plainville area. She enjoyed wildflowers and gardening.

Helen was a Certified Nurse Assistant for 30 years at Sunset Home, retiring in 1983.

Surviving is a daughter, Diane Franks and her husband Willard of Millbrook, AL.; three sons, Ronald McQueen of Snohomish, WA., Robert McQueen and his wife Sandra of Morrisville, IL., and LeRoy McQueen and his wife Pat of Deatsville, AL.; and seven grandchildren, Bobbie Franks and his wife Danielle of Plainville, John Franks of Payson, April Franks of Millbrook, AL., Corey McQueen of Quincy, Erin McQueen and Bethany McQueen both of Morrisville, IL. and Robert Kee of Deatsville, AL.

Mrs. McQueen was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Payson by the Rev. Robert Cook. Burial will be in the Payson New Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 and Thursday until the time of services at the funeral home in Payson.

Memorials may be made to the Payson New Cemetery Association.
