| Mrs. Dolly B. Mead, 86, of the Good Samaritan Home, formerly of 916 North 12th, died at 7:35 p.m. Saturday (November 30, 2002) in Blessing Hospital. Born September 25, 1916 in Nelsonville, Missouri, Mrs. Mead was the daughter of Clarence and Bertha Oster Bevill. She married Roy A. Mead on August 20, 1938 in New London, Missouri. He died February 19, 1988. Mrs. Mead was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Surviving is a son, Gerald "Jerry" Mead and his wife Gloria of Quincy; a daughter, Judith Lilienthal of Quincy; five grandchildren, Christopher Mead of Tampa, FL., Timothy Mead and his wife Becky of Shilo, IL., Jonathan Mead and his wife Amy of Wentzville, MO., Katherine Miller and her husband Kevin of New London, MO. and Lori Bailey and her husband Mark of Visalia, CA.; three great grandchildren, Ryan Mead of Shilo, IL., Evan Mead of Wentzville, MO. and Seth Bailey of Visalia, CA.; a brother, Ralph Bevill and his wife Virginia of Ft. Myers, FL.; a sister, Erma Jean Shaffer and her husband Bill of Ballwin, MO.; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Mead was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a grandson, James David Mead. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:30 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Franklin Silas. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 and Wednesday until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society. |
