| Mr. Wesley G. Merritt, 84, of North Adams Home, formerly of Payson, died at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday (November 13, 2001)
in North Adams Home. Born March 20, 1917 in Meyer, IL., Wesley was the son of Joseph and Maggie Downs Merritt. He married Theresa Roux on March 23, 1946 in Chicago, IL. She died December 18, 1988. Mr. Merritt was employed by the Florsheim Shoe Factory in Chicago and later for Moorman Manufacturing in the boiler room for many years until his retirement. Surviving is his companion, Lois Meyer of Quincy; a daughter, Betty Jean Ash of Payson; a son, Wesley J. Merritt and his wife Rebecca of Waterloo, IA.; two grandchildren, Phillip Hull of Payson and Jessica Merritt of Waterloo, IA.; a sister, Katie Yada of St. Marie, ID; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Merritt was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; seven sisters; and two brothers. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Ron Cox. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 12:00 Noon until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the North Adams Home. |
