| Mrs. Margaret Meyer, of 2027 Cherry Lane Estates, died at 10:00 p.m. Wednesday (January 17, 2001) in Good Samaritan
Home. Born in Osborn, Missouri, Mrs. Meyer was the daughter of Dr. E. H. and Lilly Davis Wade. She married L. Walter "Smitty" Meyer on August 5, 1939 in Virginia City, NV. He died August 27, 1987. Margaret was a member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ. She enjoyed reading and listening to music. Margaret taught school in Pike County for many years. When her husband retired from farming in the Hull - Kinderhook area in 1979 they moved to Quincy and then to Barry in 1985. She and her husband enjoyed spending winters in Texas after their retirement. Following Mr. Meyer's death in 1987, she returned to Quincy. Mrs. Meyer was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Howard E. Wade in infancy, Lee Edward Wade and Jay A. Wade; and two sisters, Dorothy Louise Cady and Marianna Lillian Wade. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:30 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Stephen Schuette. Burial will be in Akers Chapel Cemetery near Plainville. Visitation will be Monday morning from 9:30 until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Akers Chapel Cemetery. |
