Mrs. Joan E. Neumann, 76, of
5315 Columbus Road, died at 8:28 a.m.
Saturday (July 10, 2004) in Blessing Hospital.
Born November 21, 1927 in Shelby County, Missouri, Joan was the
daughter of A. Ross and Mildred Cochrane Metcalf. She married Gerald W.
Neumann on June 9, 1962 in Quincy.
He survives.
Joan was a member of Union United Methodist Church. She was a graduate
of Northeast Missouri State University and attended the University of
Colorado.
Mrs. Neumann taught at many area schools before beginning her career
with the Quincy Public Schools in 1959. She retired in 1989 from Quincy
Junior High School where she taught special education for many years.
Also surviving is a daughter, Jeri Perkins and her husband Denny of
Sedalia, MO.; a son, Joseph Neumann stationed with the U. S. Army in
Charleston, IL.; two granddaughters, Sara and Abigail Perkins both of
Sedalia, MO.; three sisters, Joyce Mayes of Shelbina, MO., Faye Brewer
of
Tampa, FL. and Mary Jo Weaver of Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation rites were accorded to Mrs. Neumann. Memorial services will
be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson
Funeral Home by the Rev. Robert Morwell.
There will be no visitation, but friends are invited to the services.
