| Monita Nye, 65, of Payson, died at 2:26 a.m. Tuesday (October 23, 2001) in Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis,
MO. Born August 29, 1936, in Adams County, Monita was the daughter of Tom and Nina (Davis) Sally. She attended Clayton School and was of the Protestant faith. She married Floyd Cooper of Bowen. She later married Don Kaufman of Quincy and then married John Nye of Quincy. All preceded her in death. She worked at Stubs Tavern in Quincy for several years. Survivors include two daughters, Donita Burgess and her husband Tony of Payson, and Vicky Roberts of Naples, TX.; one son, Ricky Cooper of CA.; four stepdaughters, Cheryl Kaufman and Karen Kaufman, both of Quincy, Nicki Kaufman, and Dixie Harvey of VA.; one stepson, Don Kaufman of Quincy; four sisters, Wilma Huffman and Zada Brown of Payson, and Loretta Sally and Shiela Hankins of Quincy; two brothers, Rodney Sally of Hollywood, MD., and Kenny Wear of Houston, TX.; seven grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Merle Sally, Monte Sally, James Sally, and Thomas Sally; and one sister, Maxine Sally. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Robert Cook. Burial will be in South Side Cemetery in Clayton. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 and Friday morning until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Monita Nye Memorial Fund. |
