Mr. John M. "Mike" Oakley, 56, of 1340 North 5th, died at 3:55 a.m.
Wednesday (July 21, 2004) in the Sycamore Health Care Center.

Born April 20, 1948 in Oak Park, Illinois, Mike was the son of Hazel
Oakley. Mike received a Bronze Service Star for his service in the U. S.
Army in Vietnam.

Mike enjoyed playing and watching all sports. He loved the outdoors
and was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of Twin Oaks Club and
the North American Hunter's Club.

Survivors include his daugther, Nicole Smith and her husband Adam of
Quincy; a son, Chris Mozingo of Tuscon, AZ.; his mother, Hazel Oakley of
Quincy; and two grandchildren, Mickala Smith and Adam "A. J." Smith Jr.
both of Quincy. He had been married to Debbie Foster and remained close to
her and her children, Stacey, Tiffany, Matthew and Kristie.

Mr. Oakley was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Alexis Oakley;
and a sister, Marilyn Oakley.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:00 in the
Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Captain Alan Wurtz. Burial with
military honors by Payson V. F. W. Post 2061 will be in Quincy Memorial
Park.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 4:00 to 6:00 and Saturday
until the time of services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Mike Oakley Memorial Fund.
