Mrs. Eva C. Ohnemus, 81, of Quincy, died at 12:33 p.m. Tuesday (February 25, 2003) in Blessing Hospital.

Born July 9, 1921 in Knox County, Missouri, Eva was the daughter of Harry and Ruth Fox McCabe. She married Wallace Eyler on April 10, 1940 in Edina, Missouri. He preceded her in death. She married Francis H. Ohnemus on April 24, 1979 in Quincy. He died July 21, 1981.

Mrs. Ohnemus was a charter member of Faith Christian Church and was active with the Jolly Seniors and K Group at the church. She was also a former member of the Women of the Moose.

Mrs. Ohnemus was employed as a switchboard operator in Lewis County, Missouri and then as a secretary and lab tester for the Lewis County Farm Bureau. After moving to Quincy, Eva was employed at Motorola for several years and later in the Dietary Department of Blessing Hospital until her retirement.

Surviving are three daughters, Kathryn McCullough and her husband Larry of Canton, MO., Lucille Kessler of Lewistown, MO. and Shirley Dosier and her husband Orville of Williamstown, MO.; a son, Robert Wallace Eyler and Linda of Camp Point, IL.; 12 grandchildren, Darryl McCullough, David McCullough, Sharon Farr and her husband Robey and Thomas Dosier and his wife Melissa all of Canton, MO., Rhonda Wade and her husband Cliff and Michelle Crandall and her husband Andy all of Ewing, MO. and Dennis Kessler and his wife Chris, Robin Sprague and her husband Kelly, Shelly Lay and her husband John, Todd Eyler and his wife Kris, Andy Eyler and his wife Kelly and Tracy Eyler all of Quincy; 15 great grandchildren; a sister, Thelma Phillips of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Ohnemus was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a son in law, Donald Kessler; and a brother, Robert McCabe.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:30 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Henry Pratt. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 and Friday until the time of services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Faith Christian Church Jolly Seniors or the Blessing Cancer Center.
